Something's Rotten in Here

Not even close to a year after Nurin and now Sharlinie a.k.a Nini and the police has barely even come close to nabbing the culprits. Well they do claim that they have nabbed some suspects but that somehow leaves me doubting as to the authenticity of their suspicions (or the quality of their 'investigations'). It almost looks like they just reeled in some people just for the sake of reeling in somebody to make it appear that they're doing their job.

I'm getting more and more convinced that it is a huge waste of time to tune into our mainstream media. The news and articles you get over the papers are just plain rubbish (international news are taken from the AP wire and Reuters mind you). Everything is fine in the papers - the worst it can get is a 4 paper reporting of a bus crash.

Over some blogs you can see photos of our Prime Minister sleeping during meetings. Things you would not see in a thousand years over your morning daily paper. It's a known secret that corruption is rampant in our country (read goverment). From where I come from - KK, Sabah. Everybody talks about how corrupt this and that is. How the state is supposedly resource rich but is penniless to the core. It's amazing how some leaders can stay in their posts when it is so obvious that they're a joke.

As if it's not enough with ignoramuses running the country we have to deal with agencies going round confiscating literature. The reason: to deter moral hazard and confusion. To whom? Are the higher ups so worried that the masses would grow 'intelligent' that we might start forming our own opinions. Not enough with that, words such as ''Allah'', 'Solat' etc are now unique to Islam only. Reason: the fear of causing 'confusion'. For whom? Our fellow Muslims? Christians? Buddhists? Hindus? Are we Malaysians that easily confused? Then what about the Malay speaking Christians or any other religion that uses those words? Suddenly now it is illegal for them to possess a Malay version of the bible (it has been in use for ages fyi). Then there's the declaration by the Mufti in KK that deems all other non-Islam religious structures illegal. WHOA!.

Now Lingam, recently Hindraf, BERSIH. Speaking of which, I intend to join them for the Yellow Carnival which will be held at Stadium Bukit Jalil on Feb 23. No more street rallies its the stadiums now.

I'm starting to love my country. Partly due to seeing that there are Malaysians that deeply care for the community and for this land that we 'tumpah' darah for. In their light I guess I'm quite late in becoming but better late than never.

Alchemists turn plain metal into gold. If there's that much shit in the country, let's make fertilizer or biofuel or...or...oh I think you get it.
