Tahun Si Tikus

Happy Chinese New Year to all my family and friends. It's my first new year away from home. It wasn't too bad.

I didn't go house visiting or anything. Alister had his parents down for the New Year and I became driver to him and his family. It was pretty fun though. Even had a 'moginum' session with his dad and all the cerita of yesteryears came out :)

I'm currently on leave until Tuesday. I didn't fly back home thus indirectly saving RM800-1000 on airfares. Feeling proud of myself of the pseudo-saving I took an extra 2 days off. Practically the whole Chinese population in the office is away still. I still have some work to deal with at home. It's all good nonetheless.

It just hit me that it's almost a year now that I made the 'big leap' of coming over to KL to work. It has been a crazy year. I still can't believe it's coming to one whole year. Started out clueless but the picture is a tad bit clearer now. I'm at a wonderful job, a car to drive in and a relatively cheap place to live. I thank God for all those but I still can't help but feel that I messed up. Somewhere along the way, something just went wrong I guess. Things with Hilda fell apart and my relationship with christ is just in the pits. Many a times I've thought about throwing in the towel. That it did not matter anymore. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Taoism, Buddhism etc - were all tools of manipulation for man. All I can say is I'm still holding on. I just hope digging out of the pit does not make it grow deeper :)

Speaking of which, I always find a good read at Noves' place. I'd have to say I found it encouraging - a raw and honest account of a dreamer's introspection and her attempts at grasping the invisible prize. Thanks my dear friend - for one of the few things that keeps me holding on. Our shoutbox conversations are invaluable.

We will be celebrating Amanda's 19th birthday today! That's Alister's younger sister. Annoying lil' brat :P Happy Birthday cutie! Cheers.
